Experience One : Tree Medicine Plant Walk<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

This Experience is an outdoor plant walk led by a M\u00e9tis knowledge keeper. <\/b>Along the way, students explore human-plant relationships that support M\u00e9tis communities in past and present. We will introduce plants of cultural significance and may discuss their uses for food, medicine, and tools. We will integrate Indigenous relationships with nature, harvesting traditions, environmental stewardship, and plant safety. Please note that location and season will influence types of plants available. Our knowledge keepers may share their own individual knowledge and stories.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Experience Two : M\u00e9tis Artifacts Scavenger Hunt<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Working in small groups, students will use trading supply cards to locate items used by the M\u00e9tis on the Canadian prairies. Once found, we will gather as a large group and learn more about the items. We will use all our senses to gain a hands-on understanding of traditional M\u00e9tis food, tools, medicine, and clothing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
